Untitled (My Media Album) is a live cinematic VJ piece, which mixes elements of mainstream news media and footage shot with an early video-capable mobile phone with beats-music and abstract video. Untitled (My Media Album) is inspired by club beats, pop forms, lo-fi and video game music, as well as Op Art, color field painting and experimental animation and film/video.



Moving images from custom video footage, mobile phones, the Internet, video games, wild flowers in southern California and simple techno-digital patterns and animations are manipulated in real-time. I used a joystick and then later a custom interface I created to control live video processing of the image. Using such an interface, one can begin to work out what it means to "play the image" in real time.
